Guest Lecture on “Application of Isotope Techniques in Groundwater Management in Mines”
The Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME), MIST organized a guest lecture on “Application of Isotope Techniques in Groundwater Management in Mines” on 27 July 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Md. Moniruzzaman Monir, Principal Geologist, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission.
The lecture focused on the application of isotope techniques to identify and trace mine-related groundwater contaminants, assess their environmental impacts, and explore effective mitigation strategies. Faculty members and students of the department participated with great enthusiasm.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where students actively interacted with the speaker to deepen their understanding of the topic.
