MIST MONGOL BAROTA” Secured 5th position in ARC 2023, Turkiye
‘MIST Mongol Barota’ achieved an outstanding 5th position in the highly competitive Anatolian Rover Challenge (ARC) 2023, which took place at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkiye, from 19th to 23rd July 2023. The event was organized by the esteemed Space Exploration Society (UKET), Turkiye. The event witnessed the presence of His Excellency, The Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkiye, M. Amanul Haq, who graced the occasion to celebrate our noteworthy achievement.
A total of 25 teams have competed the initial round of the competition and 19 teams were selected for the final round. In the final round, 12 teams participated from different countries including Poland, India, Turkiye, Bangladesh, and the Czech Republic. More than 150 team members attended the final competition. Each team had to come across 4 missions where the scenarios created as Mars field, moon field, and Earth hall.
Representing our institution, "MIST Mongol Barota" was comprised of twelve students and two advisors. The team members hailed from the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and ME (Mechanical Engineering) departments, with individuals named Rashid, Alam, Jawad, Shakil, Nabiha, Nazifa, Abrar, and Saifur from CSE Dept; and Ahasan, Antu, Fahim and Alamin from ME Dept. The team was under the guidance of Col Ashfaquer Rahat Siddique and Lt Col Muhammad Nazrul Islam. The team is grateful for the continuous support and encouragement from Acting Commandant Brig Gen Md Wahidul Islam, SUP, ndc, psc, of MIST, who served as the Chief Patron for the "MIST Mongol Barota" team. Additionally, they received invaluable guidance from Brig Gen Md Mahfuzul Karim Majumder, ndc, psc, te, Head of CSE Dept who served as the Chief Advisor.
